Killer Cookbook

I’m thinking this would be a TV show - drama/comedy/cooking show mash-up.

Character 1 is an older woman who is a mommy blogger. She mainly blogs about cooking and posts all her recipes. They’re not great recipes and most of them she’s stolen from other sources, so really most people don’t read her blog. If they do, they scroll to the bottom and grab the recipe.

Character 2 is a girl in her 30s. She’s just signed the lease to her first apartment and is getting everything sorted. Her mom gifts her a cookbook of Character 1’s recipes as a starter guide on what to make. Character 2 is bored one day, she’s waiting for her Roku or streaming platform to hookup to her TV - or she doesn’t have a TV yet - or her internet is down - either way she pulls out the cookbook (maybe she just wants to cook a meal) and she scans through the page and a half description. It’s all pretty boring, until she starts noticing something weird. Character 1, who wrote the cookbook, starts to reference a murder that she had committed. Character 2 reads through the whole cookbook and realizes there’s more clues to a possible murder. She’s intrigued and a mystery develops.

Character 2 considers bringing it to the police and perhaps even does but the police brush her off. Character 2 tracks the places mentioned in the cookbook and becomes an ametuer sleuth as she tries to solve a mystery that no one really believes happened.

The two characters can meet and Character 1 plays dumb to the accusations. But a new cookbook comes out with a taunt at Character 2 and more clues to a second murder.

Can she find out if the baker actually killed someone or is she making it all up?
