A Ghost Roommate

So there’s tons of ghost stories out there. There’s even the greatest, in my opinion, ghost TV show Ghosts on BBC and this would be a take on that.

A ghost who died within the last century has someone move into their apartment and that person is a depressed bean. They are struggling to take care of themselves as 2020 and Covid happens. The ghost sees it all happening and decides to take it upon themselves to get that person to take care of themselves.

The ghost makes the trash smell extra bad so they’ll take it out. They open the window as a food truck passes by so they’ll go get something to eat. They put objects in the way when they walk so that they’ll put them away. They’ll make objects fall in the shower then turn the water on just so the person gets wet.

The ghost thinks they’re helping but really, it’s just a nuisance and the deeper into 2020 it gets, the worse the person gets. They lose their job and don’t leave their bed at all.

The person knows that their house is haunted but really doesn’t care to do anything about it.

Problem: Not sure what the inciting incident is. It’s just a spiral into nothing-ness. Maybe the ghost finds a way to become corporeal or the person is able to see the ghost? I don’t know if I like that. It needs more work for sure.
